Hurricane Sandy Preparations

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

With Hurricane Sandy expected to bring heavy rains to the area, especially tomorrow (Monday), along with high winds reaching nearly 70 miles per hour, we have mobilized the University’s emergency management team. We are monitoring the storm closely, are assuring the preparedness of all campus systems, and will be sending you Campus Alerts about precautions you should take to keep yourself safe as the storm begins to impact this area. Please keep an eye out for those alerts and follow the instructions they provide.

At this time, normal activities of the University are proceeding.

We will be using Facebook and Twitter to provide emergency updates as necessary. Those accounts are and We will post news stories to the homepage of the University website if necessary.

I will also be sending this notice to parents, and will send you further emails as the situation warrants.

We urge you to remain informed about this evolving weather situation and to keep yourself and others safe as this serious storm progresses.
