As you likely know, a winter storm warning has been issued for much of the area. Due to the severe weather conditions expected to accompany this storm, which prompted the Governor to issue an Emergency Proclamation restricting travel across the state, and the fact that the majority of our students are away from campus for spring break, the University will reduce operations on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Essential services staff, including individuals in areas such as Public Safety, Student Affairs, Facilities, and Dining Services should, to the best of their ability, follow normal operating procedures. If you have questions about your status, please talk with your supervisor or contact Human Resources. Staff members in positions designated as essential services need to communicate with their supervisors concerning work schedules and the need to report to or remain at work. All other non-essential staff members are not required to report to work on Tuesday.
Please remember that in situations such as extreme weather events, the University provides staff members with certain attendance options according to their individual circumstances. Staff members in positions not designated as essential services may be able to continue work assignments remotely. However, all staff members will be paid for work hours missed as a result of this weather event during the period of reduced operations. Please discuss the situation with your supervisor so that they have up-to-date information concerning your attendance.
If any other schedule changes are necessary, information will be posted to this list and sent to local radio and TV stations.
